3 December 2017. Day tripto PhiMai
I got a tuk tuk up to the bus station and stood at the empty stand waiting for the next bus. Immediately a man came up and asked if I was going to Phi Mai and hustled me off with him. I assumed I was about to be subjected by a scam but no. He was the helpful bus conductor who hurried me up the stairs of the already pretty full bus and off we went.
It was somewhat over an hour before we arrived at midday at the clock tower
The heat was sweltering. However it was all worthwhile for the site - a temple complex a bit older than Ankor Wat and influential on its architectural features,
I took quite a lot of pictures as it was all so photogenic and interesting.

The park was extremely well maintained and
the information provided was of a high quality and the whole ark was devoid of the 'hawkers' that are prevalent in Cambodia. Nobody wanted to sell me anything.
After the park, I went to the museum. On the way I toured some of the gates on the perimeter wall to the complex as well as the water reservoirs.for it.

The river was also very pretty.
The museum was of a high standard with lots of items rescued from the nearby site and elsewhere.

The museum is a modern structure in a tranquil setting - much like Phi Mai in general
Once back in Korat, I walked along part of the 'moat' surrounding the old town
before making my way to take some photos of the statue by daylight
